Special train for Ganesh Chaturthi: Travel from Bengaluru to the coastal part of Uttara Kannada made easy
There is good news for thousands of people traveling from Bengaluru to the coastal part of Uttara Kannada district on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi festival. The Railways has announced a special train to handle the additional passenger traffic, which will provide greater convenience to the people of the coastal region.

Special train service: With an aim to reduce the passenger traffic during Ganesh Chaturthi, it has been decided to run train number 06569/06570 SMVT Bengaluru-Madgaon Junction special train. This train route connects important coastal stations like Bhatkal, Murudeshwar, Honnavar, Kumta, Gokarna, Ankola and Karwar.
- On August 26, 2025, this train will depart from Bengaluru at 1 pm and reach Madgaon at 5:30 am the next day.
- On August 27, 2025, it will depart from Madgaon at 6:30 AM and reach Bengaluru at 11:40 PM on the same day.
Other Travel Options
In addition to the train service, KSRTC and private bus companies also provide additional bus services. However, as there is a huge demand for tickets during the festival season, it is advisable to book in advance. As there is heavy traffic on the highways, it is necessary for road travelers to plan their time management.
